Wendat Community Programs - Supporting Individuals in North Simcoe and Muskoka

Wendat Community Programs has a vision to empower individuals to achieve their optimal health and well-being in the community where they live, work, and socialize. Developing their programs over the last 30 years, they now support over 2,000 individuals annually in the North Simcoe and Muskoka regions.

Focusing on those members of the community who are elderly or experiencing mental illness, the organization offers programs that aim to address barriers to housing, mental health support, and socialization.

The fundraising support they receive through their partnership with Delta Bingo & Gaming Penetang allows Wendat to provide these programs for free, ensuring access for those who need it in their community. Wendat’s Lorna Tomlinson Residence, a 23-bed facility, provides housing for low-income seniors, and congregate dining and day programs for elderly individuals within the community.

“When I first came to Wendat years ago, I struggled with anxiety disorder. Wendat allowed me to become more involved in the community, and meet new friends, and that improved my anxiety tremendously. Wendat is like a second home to me. They welcome everyone here with open arms and a smile. It’s a great place to be, and I just love it.”

Being involved with cGaming for more than 20 years, Wendat Community Programs is grateful for the support and funds raised through their partnership, which allows for their staff and volunteers to focus on the front-line delivery of their services.
