Cystic Fibrosis Canada is a leading national not-for-profit organization, recognized as one of the top three charities worldwide dedicated to improving and extending the lives of individuals with cystic fibrosis (CF). Over its 65-year history, advancements in CF research and care have more than doubled the life expectancy of Canadians with cystic fibrosis. CF is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting young Canadians, devastating the lungs and digestive system. While there is no cure, research investments have significantly improved many Canadians' lives.
Roisin, living with cystic fibrosis, has this to say, "CF is a daily challenge, but thanks to advancements in research and care, it is becoming more manageable as a chronic illness rather than a fatal one. This progress is made possible through initiatives like Charitable Gaming, which helps CF raise essential funds for research and clinic grants that directly impact individuals like me and my family.
The support from Charitable Gaming is not just about funding — it is about hope, progress, and a better future. The medications, treatments, and specialized care made possible with funds raised through Charitable Gaming have significantly improved my quality of life, allowing me to look forward to a future with CF that was once unimaginable.
Being able to volunteer through the Charitable Gaming program is incredibly empowering. It gives me the opportunity to give back, advocate for others with CF, and play an active role in shaping the future of this disease. Every hour I spend volunteering helps ensure that more individuals with CF can access life-changing treatments and continue moving toward a world where CF is no longer a life-limiting condition.”
